I have been called to live this life for many reasons. One in particular is to educate and inspire people to live a healthy and well-balanced life. My lifestyle may influence others to follow suit or it may not. I am not a nutritionist nor am I a certified health coach but I aspire through my personal fitness, yoga, calisthenics, powered by the plant based diet.
Energy is everywhere.
Your thoughts, the food we consume, the actions you take are all composed of a certain energetic frequency. Think about all the bad vibes out there that are out to get us!
We have all come across so many different dietary plans and guides, books, instructions, and the like. I never really believed in going on a “diet” probably because I never really needed to lose weight or had the urge to become super bulky. I have always been pretty slim, athletic, active and fairly healthy. However, I still felt like I knew my body could be more of value, upgraded, and at its tip-top shape.
As young men, we are encouraged to become stronger through physical sports like football, basketball and depending on your culture maybe even more extreme sports like rodeo or surfing. Guys want to become strong, macho men, ripped and buff so they indulge or take supplements like whey protein, pills for that extra pump, and even powders to get your body heated and energized before pumping iron. The ladies want to take the quick and easy weight loss pills, the slim fast shakes, and wrap themselves in plastic or some tight belt that constricts their body into that perfect figure they embolize from televison, Instagram models, and the latest drama-instilled celebrity reality television show.
Have you ever gone on a diet? Are you still sticking to that meal plan? Did it work out for you? How did you feel when you restricted yourself from eating carbs or any other important nutrient your body needs?
You get the picture. We have seen and heard of so many different solutions for this simple problem. If they are all cutting edge technologies, the latest scientific proof of health, why are they not working? Bad vibe alert!
Being healthy and fit, energetic and alive is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle.
The benefits of a healthy lifestyle are enormous. They can include the following:
- Longer life
- Look and feel younger
- Increase in energy levels
- Weight loss
- Prevent and treat Diabetes
- Prevent and treat Cancer
- Lower your blood pressure
- Avoid Alzheimer’s Disease
- Keep your bones strong
The list can go on and on.
Taking supplements will not lead to long-lasting health and can even cause unforeseen side effects in the long term. Doesn’t it make sense that the latest pill was invented because the previous version did not work so they are still trying to sell you something else just to make a profit.
It’s pretty simple. So don’t be fast, easy, fake or cheap. It never gets easier, we only get stronger. You are as real as it gets. Your value should multiply one hundred fold each and every day you are above ground. Let’s start feeling and acting like it.
In 1969, Dr. Otto Warburg found that cancer cells cannot live in an alkaline environment. Meaning: all the foods, drinks, chemicals we come in contact with fall somewhere on the same pH scale that was once taught to us in high school. Don’t worry, I will clarify if you have forgotten.
Acidic foods range between a pH of 6 down to 1.
Neutral is on the level of 7 pH.
And alkaline or alkalinity is anywhere from a pH of 8 up to 14.
Pretty simple right?
First, to further confirm Warburg’s findings, in the book Alkalize or Die by Dr. Theodore Baroody says,
“The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause… too much tissue acid waste in the body!”
Thanks to the nature of our amazing biological system, our bodies work to keep our blood pH levels at about 7.36 to about 7.44. Therefore, while our bodies are fighting to keep our blood between this narrow level our tissues become affected.
The underlying key factor is ingesting too much acidic forming foods and not enough alkaline forming foods.
So, which foods cause the acidic build up in our bodies? It’s not hard to miss as they happen to be animal protein, sugar, caffeine and processed and packaged foods.
Even what is in our environment affects our pH balance in a few ways. Breathing polluted air, drinking chlorinated or fluoride water, and believe it or not, the nature our our thoughts can affect our health. Negative thoughts, worrying or fear causes physical and emotional stress building up acidic waste that eventually affects our organs. You are the product of your environment so surround yourself with the best in all aspects.
Alkaline forming foods are those such as leafy green vegetables, broccoli, beets, carrots and mostly every other vegetable there is as well as fruits. Lemons themselves are acidic, but once they are ingested and in our stomach, our bodies then do their magic and actually turn the property of the lemon to an alkaline level.
The water we drink is also a highly important factor. Bottled water has been found to contain toxic chemicals that have leaked from the plasic into the water. Personally, I have invested into a Kangen water machine which has the ability to change the pH of the water – alkalized water for suprerior hydration.
Take into account, from this day on, to take charge of your health; to be mindful of not only what you are eating but also what you are thinking and feeling.
Eat more fruits and veggies, less ice cream and fast food. Drink a lot more water and less Gatorades and Coca Colas. Change the way you look at things and watch those things change. Positive thoughts, positive life!
