Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Sydney Maigon (May-gin) Herrera. I’m a typical girl trying to find her way in this world. I’m originally from Lozano, Texas. Many people know this area as the “Valley.” I moved to San Antonio, Texas to start my collegiate volleyball career when I was 18. Life happened and I transferred to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. This past December I received my degree in mass communication. I’m based in San Marcos but San Antonio and Austin are like second homes to me. I currently work at Lululemon and coach a club volleyball team. I’m an impulsive soul so expect the unexpected. Though I love fashion, food, art, thrifting, candles, being active, watching Ted Talks, photography and social media; writing has the deepest parts of my soul.
To be quite honest, I can’t tell you to expect greatness. I can tell you to expect me, my open heart and the screen that I sit behind. When I write, I open my soul and let my thoughts spill out. I don’t have a filter. Cussing is a thing I do, venting too, also grammatical errors from time to time. I write as if I was sitting with you, talking face to face, letting you know life sucked today or I thrifted this really cool shirt. Random and I are synonyms. One day life is grand and the next I’m talking about canned bread. Real feelings, real thoughts, real experiences. Just me and my keyboard.
So welcome to my favorite place to vent.
Here I am. 22 years old, writing for a wonderful site full of extraordinary writers. I’m overwhelmed with joy that I get to share my story on this platform. I hope you all enjoy as well. So sit back, relax and prepare yourself for this wild ride I call, life.
